A Weapons Licence – administered by Queensland Police – Weapons Licensing
Eligibility requirements generally include:
Being 18 years of age or older
Being a fit and proper person
Having no disqualifying offences under the Criminal Code within the last 10 years
Meeting identity, documentation and fee requirements

A Queensland Security Guard (Employee) Weapons Licence permits you to carry a weapon while performing licensed duties for a security organisation. It does not authorise you to acquire firearms.
Holders of a Queensland Security Guard (Weapons) Licence must complete annual recertification to maintain authority to carry a firearm. If you already hold a current licence and require renewal, enrol in our Weapons Licence Annual Refresher Course.
