Queensland Security Training Academy (QSTA) provides nationally recognised and non-accredited training services within the security industry in Queensland.
All nationally recognised training is delivered in accordance with applicable training package requirements and regulatory standards.
3. Course Information
All course information published on this website is provided in good faith. While we take reasonable care to ensure accuracy, QSTA reserves the right to:

Cancel or reschedule courses

4. Enrolment
By enrolling in a course, you confirm that:

You understand that licensing is subject to approval by the relevant authority

You accept that course completion does not guarantee licence approval
Licensing decisions are made solely by:

Queensland Office of Fair Trading (OFT)

Queensland Police Service – Weapons Licensing
5. Licensing Responsibility
QSTA provides training only.
We do not:

Issue security licences
-
Issue weapons licences
-
Guarantee licence approval
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they meet all eligibility requirements prior to enrolment.
Fees paid for training are not refundable if a licence application is refused due to eligibility issues.
6. Fees and Payments
All course fees must be paid prior to course commencement unless otherwise agreed.
Prices listed on the website are subject to change without notice.
Additional government licensing fees, fingerprinting fees and criminal history checks are not included in course pricing unless expressly stated.
7. Refund Policy
Refunds are handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Refunds may be granted in circumstances including:

Course cancellation by QSTA

Exceptional personal circumstances (at QSTA discretion)
No refunds will be issued for:

Change of mind

Failure to meet licensing eligibility requirements

Non-attendance without notice
Where a refund is approved, administrative fees may apply.
8. Course Cancellations and Rescheduling
QSTA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses due to:

Insufficient enrolments

Trainer illness

Operational requirements

Regulatory updates
Students will be offered:

Transfer to another course date, or

Refund of fees paid

QSTA is not responsible for travel or accommodation costs incurred.
9. Student Conduct
Students must:

Follow trainer instructions

Comply with safety requirements

Behave respectfully toward staff and other students

Not attend under the influence of drugs or alcohol

QSTA reserves the right to remove students from training for misconduct or safety concerns.
No refund will be issued in cases of removal due to misconduct.
10. Physical and Medical Requirements
Certain courses require:

Physical participation

Defensive tactics training

Firearms handling
-
CPR on floor-based manikins
Students must ensure they are physically capable of participating safely.
Students with medical conditions should notify QSTA prior to enrolment.
11. Weapons and Firearms Training
For firearms-related courses:

Students must meet eligibility requirements
-
Live-fire training is conducted under strict supervision
-
Failure to follow safety instructions will result in immediate removal
Completion of firearms training does not automatically grant a Weapons Licence.
12. Online Learning Requirements
Where courses include online components:

Students must have reliable internet access

Students must complete online modules before attending practical sessions

Assessments must be completed independently

Failure to complete required online training may result in inability to attend practical sessions.
13. Intellectual Property
All course materials, manuals, assessments and website content remain the intellectual property of QSTA.
Students may not:

Distribute

Share

Republish
Any course material without written permission.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law:
QSTA is not liable for:

Licence refusal

Employment outcomes

Loss of income

Indirect or consequential losses
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under Australian Consumer Law.
15. Privacy
QSTA collects and stores personal information for enrolment, assessment and compliance purposes.
