Licence & Regulatory Requirements
The Security Licence (Guard) – Employee (Categories C, E & H) permits you to carry a weapon while performing duties for a licensed security organisation. It does not authorise you to acquire firearms.
Applications for Security Guard Firearms Licences are processed by the Queensland Police – Weapons Licensing Branch. Government licensing fees are not included in the course cost.
Failure to meet eligibility requirements may affect your ability to obtain the necessary licences. Applicants must familiarise themselves with both Security Licence and Weapons Licence application processes prior to enrolment.
Holders of a Queensland Security Guard Employee Weapons Licence are required to complete annual recertification to maintain their authority to carry a firearm. If you already hold a current licence and require renewal, enrol in the Weapons Licence Annual Refresher Course.
