This nationally recognised course is designed for individuals seeking to obtain a Queensland Weapons Licence for Category M (Crossbow).
Participants will develop essential knowledge of Queensland weapons legislation, licensing requirements, community safety responsibilities, and the safe handling, storage and transport of crossbows. The course combines classroom-based theory with practical instruction to ensure participants are competent in the lawful and responsible use of Category M weapons.
This course forms part of the 11029NAT Course in Firearms and Weapons Safety (Approved for Firearms Licensing in Queensland).
As a Licensed Category M (Crossbow) Holder, your responsibilities may include:
Complying with Queensland weapons legislation
Demonstrating safe handling and operation of crossbows
Safely storing and transporting crossbows in accordance with legal requirements
Understanding community safety and legal obligations
Applying responsible weapons practices at all times
Course Outcome
On successful completion, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally recognised units:
NAT11029001 Demonstrate knowledge of weapons legislation, weapons and community safety
NAT11029006 Use Category M weapons lawfully, safely and responsibly
Licence & Regulatory Requirements
All Queensland Weapons Licences are administered by Queensland Police.
Participants are encouraged to review Queensland Weapons Licence application requirements prior to enrolment, as additional eligibility criteria, documentation and government fees apply.
Please note: You must submit your Weapons Licence application within 12 months of completing this course.
