
QLD Annual Firearms Re-Certification
CPPSEC3114
This course provides the mandatory annual firearms re-certification required for armed security professionals in Queensland. Armed security officers are legally required to complete annual revalidation to maintain their authority to carry firearms while performing licensed duties.
The training ensures continued competency in the safe handling, operation and maintenance of firearms, and includes both theoretical instruction and practical range assessments delivered by experienced, licensed instructors.
As an Armed Security Officer, your responsibilities include:
Demonstrating safe and lawful use of firearms
Maintaining operational proficiency and accuracy standards
Complying with Queensland weapons legislation and licensing conditions
Safely maintaining and storing firearms and approved protective equipment
Applying sound judgement in high-risk situations
Course Outcome
On successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally recognised unit:
CPPSEC3114 Control security risk situations using firearms
Weapons Licensing Categories Covered
Category C – Shotgun
Category H – Revolver
Category H – Semi-Automatic Pistol
Category E – Body Armour
Entry & Eligibility Requirements
Participants must:
Be 18 years of age or older
Have no criminal convictions within the previous 10 years (driving offences such as speeding or drink driving are not normally disqualifying)
Be an Australian citizen or hold an appropriate visa permitting work in the Queensland security industry
Meet eligibility requirements for a Security Providers Licence
Participants must also have completed appropriate firearms and defensive tactics training pathways prior to undertaking re-certification.
