This nationally recognised skill set allows licensed security officers to add the Cash-in-Transit (CIT) function to an existing Queensland Security Licence.
A Cash-in-Transit Security Officer is responsible for the secure collection, transfer and delivery of cash, bullion, jewellery and other valuables in accordance with Queensland legislation. This course develops the practical skills and procedural knowledge required to perform CIT duties safely and professionally.
This skill set may also provide credit toward the CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations.
As a Cash-in-Transit Security Officer, your responsibilities may include:
Inspecting and testing cash-in-transit security equipment
Implementing approved cash handling and transport procedures
Loading and unloading valuables in secured and unsecured environments
Maintaining situational awareness and risk management during transit
Complying with the Security Providers Act 1993 (Qld)
Course Outcome
On successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally recognised units:
CPPSEC3118 Inspect and test cash-in-transit security equipment and rectify faults
CPPSEC3119 Implement cash-in-transit security procedures
CPPSEC3120 Load and unload cash-in-transit in secured and unsecured environments
Upon completion, participants may apply to have the Security Officer (Cash-in-Transit) function added to their existing Queensland Security Licence through the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).
Entry Requirements
Participants must:
Have completed all 14 modules of CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations
Upgrade to the current CPP20218 qualification if holding an older version
Be 18 years of age or older
Have no criminal convictions within the previous 10 years (driving offences are not normally disqualifying)
Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an appropriate visa permitting work in the Queensland security industry

Licence & Regulatory Information
To work as a Cash-in-Transit Officer in Queensland, you must have the Security Officer (Cash-in-Transit) function added to your existing Queensland Security Licence issued by the Office of Fair Trading.
Please note: To perform armed CIT duties, you must also complete the relevant Firearms Skill Set and obtain a Security Guard Firearms Licence.
